Daytime barred owls continue to be reported. Most sightings are now repeat observations at locations known to yield daytime barred owls. Two observers are attempting to determine whether they see the same owl at different times and locations or see different owls at the same time of day at different locations. More later.

Another report of a late afternoon sighting of a barred owl. This bird was perched on power lines along MOMP route 22-3-A. This bird is about 3 km from the owl at our feeder site. Must be different birds, for our owl was perched in a maple tree at our feeder site from 1000-1830 hours yesterday.

My survey on the Unity Plantation / Unity / Burnham / Clinton route (MOMP 21-4-B) will occur THURSDAY morning not Tuesday morning due to predicted poor weather tonight and tomorrow. The rest of the details remain the same.
